El Habib Louai was born in Taroudant, Morocco in a Berber family. He obtained his Baccalaureate in modern literature from Ibn Souleiman high school in Taroudant. He later on moved to Agadir to continue his studies in Ibn Zohr university where he obtained a BA in English linguistics and literature in 2007. El Habib is teaching English in Azaytoun junior high school in Tamri, Agadir. He is currently a comparative studies master student in Ibn Zohr university in Agadir, Morocco. El Habib is also a poet and translator with many other artistic talents. His published poems can be read online in various magazines and literary reviews such as Indigo Rising Magazine, Danse Macabre du Jour, Istanbul Literary Review and Poetrymag. El Habib’s academic areas of interest range from French literature and literary theory, modern philosophy, African-American literature and literary theory to north African literature and culture, colonial discourse and post-colonial theory. His latest academic participation was in a study day organized by the doctoral committee in Race, Ethnicity and Alterity at Ibn Zohr univesity in Agadir, Morocco. His current paper deal with Assia Djebar’s feminist post-colonial engagements in Femmes d’Alger dans leur appartement and L’amour, la Fantasia. |
