Prof. Musa W. Dube has recently been promoted from Senior Lecturer to Associate Professor at the University of Botswana. Dr Musa W. Dube taught Biblical Studies (Synoptic Gospels, New Testament Greek, Johannine and Pauline Literature) in the University of Botswana, Dept. of Theology and Religious Studies, from 1997 to 2002. From 2002-2003 she was seconded to WCC, serving as a HIV/AIDS and theological consultant for churches and theological institutions of Africa. Her role was to train theological lecturers and church leaders to mainstream HIV/AIDS and gender issues in their programs. Towards this end, Dr Dube has edited two volumes: HIV/AIDS and the Curriculum: Methods of Integrating HIV/AIDS in Theological Programs (Geneva: WCC, 2003), and: Africa Praying: A Handbook of HIV/AIDS Sensitive Sermons and Liturgy (Geneva: WCC 2004). In 2004, she joined Scripps College, Claremont, California, USA, as Professor of Religious Studies and Head of the Department of Religious Studies. In 2005, she rejoined the Department of Theology and Religious Studies of the University of Botswana, at Gaborone, Botswana.

Jione Havea is a native of Tonga, ordained by the Methodist Church of Tonga, and interested in cultural modes of thinking, reading and behaving, as those relate to biblical and nonliterary texts. Jione likes to congregate around talanoa (story, telling, conversation) with islanders at Parklea Prison; enjoys a good laugh at Fofo‘anga over a bowl of kava and a deck of cards; is active in the gatherings of Talanoa Oceania, Oceania Biblical Studies Association, Society of Asian Biblical Studies and Society of Biblical Literature; and currently engages in various writing projects: Islands, islanders and Bible (Semeia Studies, SBL; co-edits with Margaret Aymer Oget and Steed Davidson); Bible, Borders, Belongings (with Elaine Wainwright and David Neville); Reading the bible in Oceania: An introduction (for OBSA and International Voices in Biblical Studies, SBL).

The Rev. Dr. Néstor O. Míguez is a leader both in articulating an authentic Latin American reading of the Bible and in ecumenical efforts to strengthen theological education worldwide. He serves as professor of New Testament Studies, Instituto Universitario ISEDT, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dr. Miguez is the author of That You May Have Life: Encounters with Jesus in the Gospel of John (with José Míguez Bonino), Introduction to the Study of Biblical text, coauthored with P. Andiñach and The Jesus of the People – a booklet for a popular reading of the life of Jesus, among other publications.

Masood Raja moved from Pakistan, his native country, to America in 1996 after ten years of military service as an officer in the Pakistan army. Raja earned his Masters from Belmont University and his Ph.D in Postcolonial Literature from Florida State University. Raja hopes to foster a better understanding between the people of his primary culture and the rest of the world through his writings, teaching assignments, and other intellectual exchanges. He is the author of Constructing Pakistan: Foundational Texts and the Rise of Muslim National Identity 1857-1947 (Oxford UP). Masood is an Assistant Professor of Postcolonial Literature and Theory in the English Department of the University of North Texas and the editor of Pakistaniaat: A Journal of Pakistan Studies.

The Rev Dr J. Jayakiran Sebastian is a Presbyter of the Church of South India, and currently H. George Anderson Professor of Mission and Culture and Director of the Multicultural Mission Resource Center at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. He has been Professor in the Department of Theology and Ethics at the United Theological College, Bangalore, India, where he has served as Chairperson of the Department and also as Dean of Doctoral Studies at the College. He comes from Bangalore, and following his theological training at the United Theological College, he served both rural and urban pastorates of the Karnataka Central Diocese of the Church of South India and even after becoming a theological teacher continued to be associated with the pastoral ministry by serving as an Associate Presbyter in churches where the Diocese needed him. His Master’s degree is from the Federated Faculty for Research in Religion and Culture, Kerala, and his doctorate (magna cum laude) from the University of Hamburg, Germany, where his dissertation, which was later published, was entitled “… baptisma unum in sancta ecclesia…”: A Theological Appraisal of the Baptismal Controversy in the Work and Writings of Cyprian of Carthage.
